You may have heard the term Trustee mentioned at church, but who are the Trustees?

The Trustees are members of the congregation who oversee finances, facilities, and help direct the provision of the church, as needed. The Trustees are led by the Executive Pastor and provide counsel to the Lead Pastor and the Elders.

Trustees combine their experiences in areas such as business, finance, insurance, law, or property management with their love of and commitment to Crossroads Community Church.

Trustees are entrusted with significant operational responsibilities that contribute to the smooth functioning and stewardship of the church's resources. Their duties encompass legal, financial, and administrative aspects, all of which are essential for the church's operations and its ability to fulfill its mission. As stewards of the church's assets, Trustees play a crucial role in ensuring that the resources are managed responsibly and in alignment with the church's mission and vision. Trustees are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct.

The responsibilities of a Trustee are multifaceted and encompass a wide array of duties that are integral to the effective functioning of the church. These are the key responsibilities of a Trustee:

  1. Property Management: Trustees are entrusted with the oversight of maintenance for the church's physical properties, including buildings, land, and other assets. This involves ensuring that the facilities are well-maintained, safe, and conducive to the congregation's spiritual activities. Additionally, Trustees may be involved in making decisions regarding property purchases, renovations, or sales, always with the best interests of the church in mind.

  2. Financial Stewardship: A crucial aspect of a Trustee's role is the prudent management of the church's financial resources. This includes overseeing budgets, financial planning, and ensuring transparency and accountability in financial matters. Trustees work closely with the church's financial team to review, and develop, when necessary, sound financial policies and practices that align with the church's mission and values.

  3. Legal Compliance: Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the church operates in compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing nonprofit organizations and religious institutions. This may involve staying up to date on legal requirements, filing necessary documents, and ensuring that the church's activities adhere to legal standards.

  4. Risk Management: Mitigating risks that may affect the church's assets or operations is another key responsibility of Trustees. This includes identifying potential risks, implementing safeguards, and obtaining appropriate insurance coverage to protect the church from unforeseen events.

Ready to get connected to a Life Group?

At Crossroads, Life Groups have always been at the heart of our mission. These groups are crucial for building connections, providing support, and creating a vibrant community across our campuses.

On August 24th, we gathered Life Group leaders from all six campuses for an inspiring and empowering training session. With a blend of seasoned leaders and enthusiastic newcomers, we focused on aligning our expectations, vision, and understanding of the value of our Life Groups. It was a fruitful time of learning and sharing, setting the stage for impactful ministry moving forward. We’re excited to continue these training opportunities throughout the year to strengthen our community and enhance our collective mission.

Looking ahead, starting in October, we are thrilled to launch a 6-week study across our network centered on The Art of Neighboring. This study aims to challenge and inspire participants as they engage with its material. Our goal is for each Life Group to deepen relationships, care for one another, share their experiences, and actively serve their communities. We believe this study will be a powerful tool for growth and connection within our groups.

Ready to get connected to a Life Group … check out the information at your campus or contact your campus pastor. Let’s continue to bring people in, build them up, teach them how, and send them out, making a meaningful impact together!

Summer Recap

Summer Recap ⁎

What a summer we had at Crossroads, living out our values! Our summer kicked off with a focus on next gen as Kidzlink and Crave both had their summer camps. Kidzlink camp was deeply impactfut and tons of fun for our 3rd - 5th graders, with over half of all participants committing or recommitting their life to Jesus. Crave camp has a similar response to salvation with at least half committing or recommitting to Jesus and over 80 students pledged to be missionaries in their schools - prioritizing people around them- at this school year. Next gen also had the joy of exercising community our calling while being a part of our church-wide summer serve projects that we call Love Our Neighbor. At our campuses, were able to serve in community events, clean up school playgrounds, and “Love our Neighbors” in various ways.. We participated in the Global Leadership Summit which helps cultivate us as leaders. There were life changing messages that have been a catalyst to how we live and lead. Nineteen of our Crave students from three campuses were able to attend GLS because of generosity from our community! This summer we saw personal and community-wide life change. To end the summer in celebration, Crave’s Color Blast with 122 students and 8 new guests. It was a PRAISE PARTY! We are continuing to PRAISE JESUS for all He has done in our campuses this summer!
