Baptism

Ready To Go Public?

We believe baptism is a public proclamation of faith and new life in Jesus Christ. It is an outward public testimony of an inward transformation. If you would like to learn more about baptism, schedule a baptism, or speak to someone about salvation, we are here to help.

* Pre-registration is not required, but it would be helpful if you could let us know that you would like to be baptized!

Kidzlink Kids who are 9 years and older and are interested in baptism are required to take a baptism class offered at their campus. For more information, please contact your Kidzlink Champion.

Water Baptism at Crossroads

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward reality.

At Crossroads, we believe baptism is a powerful and important step in your faith journey. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave His disciples a clear command: to baptize people from all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). Baptism is a beautiful expression of faith, showing that a person has chosen to trust Jesus for forgiveness and to follow Him in a new way of life (Acts 2:38).

When someone is baptized, some may share a small testimony, but ultimately, the act itself is a wordless declaration: "I believe in Jesus. He has cleansed me from sin, and I am stepping into a new life with Him."

What Does Baptism Mean?

Baptism is more than just getting wet—it’s a picture of what Jesus has done for us and our participation in His death, burial, and resurrection.

  • Going under the water represents dying to our old life of sin.

  • Coming up from the water represents the new, clean, and holy life we have in Christ.

Romans 6:4, “We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

We understand that sometimes disabilities can make going underwater impossible. We serve a God who is full of grace and have other options for people who need them.

Baptism is not a decision to be made without fully understanding what one is declaring to God, oneself, and others watching. The act of baptism doesn’t “save” a person, the Bible teaches that anyone who calls on Jesus and puts their trust in Him will be saved (Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13). Baptism is simply a way to publicly celebrate and declare that decision.

When Can I Get Baptized?

At Crossroads, we celebrate baptism during our Easter services at all our campuses, but each campus also schedules baptisms at other times that allow you to share this moment with your family and friends.

If you’re ready to take this step, we would love to walk alongside you! Connect with your Campus Pastor, and he’ll help you take the next step in your journey with Jesus.

Is there an age limit?

At Crossroads, we typically baptize children who are 9 years old and up. However, if a younger child expresses a strong desire to be baptized, we believe it’s important to make sure they truly understand the meaning of baptism. In these cases, the decision is made together with the child’s parents and the Campus Pastor.

To help everyone—kids and adults alike—fully grasp the significance of baptism, our campuses offer resources and a short class for those interested. This provides an opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and ensure baptism is the right next step in their faith journey.
